URflashcards Terms of Service.

Service and provider information

1. The “Service” means the URflashcards application, the learning features available in the application, and urflashcards.com pages that support the application.
2. The Service is designed for language learning, vocabulary review, flashcard practice, spaced-repetition scheduling, custom vocabulary management, optional cloud backup, and related study support.
3. The Service is provided and administered by Şerif Cin. Support and personal-data questions can be sent to support@urflashcards.com.
4. The availability, structure, design, and technical operation of the Service may change over time for maintenance, security, legal, provider, or product reasons.

Words used in these Terms

• User means a person who installs, opens, accesses, or uses the Service. Where that person cannot enter a binding agreement under applicable law, references to agreement or responsibility include the person’s parent or legal guardian where required.
• Application means the current URflashcards Android app distributed through Google Play.
• Local Learning Experience means learning and practice features that keep the user’s learning data on the device without an Account, Cloud Sync, or Premium features.
• Account means an optional sign-in account used for Cloud Sync, backup, restore, account deletion, Premium entitlement refresh, or related account features.
• Learning Data means progress, reviewed cards, answers, mistakes, mastery, SRS/FSRS review data, streaks, XP, statistics, settings, selected languages, and related study records.
• User Content means custom cards, categories, notes, examples, edits, or other content that a user creates, imports, modifies, or syncs through the Service.
• Premium means paid or subscription-based access shown in the Application or Google Play, which may remove ads or unlock additional limits or features.
• Course Pair means one directed target-language and native-language course, so reversing the two languages is a different Course Pair.
• Pair Unlock means a device-local record that permits one Course Pair to be downloaded or used on that installation. It is not a purchase, subscription, cash reward, or cross-device entitlement.

Review and agreement

1. The Application presents links to these Terms and the Privacy Policy during onboarding.
2. The Service is available only to users aged 13 or older. During onboarding, the Application asks an eligible user to select the 13–15, 16–17, or 18-and-older age group before loading the learning experience or its service providers. A person under 13 is not eligible to use the Service and must not select an inaccurate group.
3. The Application requires an affirmative Terms acceptance and Privacy Policy acknowledgment before onboarding can finish or the Premium choice can be used. By checking that box and continuing, you confirm that you had access to these Terms and agree to them.
4. If you are at least 13 but are not old enough to enter this agreement on your own under applicable law, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you.
5. Consent is not inferred from silence, closing a screen, pressing the device back button, or leaving the Application. Where the Application asks for legal acceptance, acceptance requires an affirmative action such as checking the acceptance box or pressing a clearly labelled continuation button.
6. The Application stores the accepted legal version locally so onboarding can confirm acceptance before the Premium offer is shown.

What the app may include

The Service may include downloadable and updateable Course Pairs, vocabulary cards, grammar cards, predefined categories, examples, translations, pronunciation hints, text-to-speech, speech practice, study sessions, practice modes, SRS/FSRS review scheduling, statistics, streaks, achievements, local review reminders, custom cards, deleted-card restoration, Cloud Sync, backup and restore, ads, rewarded ad-free passes, adult rewarded Pair Unlocks, Premium entitlements, and other features shown by the app interface.

Some features are local to your device. Some features depend on Google Sign-In, Premium status, network availability, Google Play services, Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, Android operating-system services, or device permissions.

After local eligibility is confirmed, the learning experience and its optional Account, Cloud Sync, Premium, purchase, restore, and speech-recognition features are available subject to the requirements described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Account responsibilities

1. Many learning features can be used without an Account or Cloud Sync. Current Account features use Google Sign-In.
2. The Application asks eligible users to select the 13–15, 16–17, or 18-and-older age group. The selected group is stored on the device to apply privacy and advertising protections; URflashcards does not ask for or store a date of birth through this setup, and the selected group is not sent to URflashcards servers or advertising providers.
3. You are responsible for keeping the Google account used with URflashcards secure and for activity that occurs through your account.
4. Please provide accurate information when requested by the Application, Google Play, or Google Sign-In.
5. If a user aged 13 or older is not old enough to manage an Account or purchase independently under applicable law, a parent or legal guardian must provide any review or authorization the law requires.
6. We may limit, suspend, or refuse access to account features where necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, respond to provider requirements, prevent abuse, or address serious violations of these Terms.

Your cards, notes, and progress

1. You keep ownership of User Content that you create.
2. You grant URflashcards a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, display, sync, back up, restore, and otherwise use User Content and Learning Data only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service.
3. You are responsible for User Content you create, import, edit, or sync, including making sure you have any permissions needed to use it.
4. Do not create, import, upload, or sync User Content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, misleading, privacy-invasive, or designed to interfere with the Service or another person.
5. Downloaded base cards and explicit user edits are stored separately. When an approved Course Pair is updated, untouched fields may follow the new base version, while explicitly saved field edits, user-added examples, hidden-card state, and associated Learning Data remain attached to their stable card or example identities.
6. If a base card or example is removed from a Course Pair, associated edits and Learning Data may remain dormant. They are not automatically transferred to another card or example. Resetting edits is a separate explicit action from hiding or restoring a system card.
7. Deleting an account removes cloud data controlled by URflashcards as described in the Privacy Policy. Local data may also need to be cleared from the device if you want to remove local-only data.

Monetization and Google Play billing

1. The free version may include limits, advertisements, or optional rewarded ads. URflashcards is designed so ads are not intentionally shown during active study or practice sessions.
2. All ad requests use the G maximum ad-content rating. For users who select 13–15 or 16–17, the Application applies the corresponding protected Google Mobile Ads treatment and forces non-personalized requests. A user who selects 18 and older may be eligible for personalized or non-personalized ads depending on Google’s User Messaging Platform, regional law, available privacy choices, and app configuration. Selecting the adult group is not consent to personalized advertising.
3. The first two distinct available Course Pairs selected on an installation receive free Pair Unlocks without an ad. A failed first download does not consume the unlock or require a different reward.
4. Course-pair rewarded unlocks are not offered to users who select 13–15 or 16–17. A user who selects 18 and older may affirmatively choose one standard rewarded ad for one additional Course Pair. The Pair Unlock is recorded when AdMob reports that the reward was earned, even if the later download must be retried.
5. A Pair Unlock applies to that Course Pair's current and later approved content versions on the same installation. Updating, retrying, or redownloading the pair does not require another ad. Pair Unlocks normally remain through sign-in, sign-out, and app updates, but clearing app storage, uninstalling the Application, or completing in-app account deletion removes them.
6. Reward availability, fill rate, duration, dismissibility, and delivery depend on AdMob, consent status, age-group protections, device state, network availability, and app configuration. Rewards have no cash value, are not purchases, and are not transferable to another device.
7. Ad-consent choices shown through Google’s User Messaging Platform are separate from accepting these Terms. Declining or withdrawing ad consent where available does not cancel an Account or a recorded Terms acceptance, but it may limit ad availability or rewarded features.
8. While Premium is confirmed active, all released Course Pairs are available without a rewarded ad. If Premium later ends, a pair that has no free or rewarded Pair Unlock becomes unavailable, but its downloaded cache, User Content, and Learning Data are not deleted.
9. Google Play displays the final price, billing period, renewal terms, taxes, trial details, cancellation rules, and refund rules before purchase.
10. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the Google Play account that made the purchase. Uninstalling the Application, clearing local data, or deleting your URflashcards account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Google Play subscriptions can be managed through Google Play’s subscription center.
11. RevenueCat is used to read, restore, and manage entitlement status. It does not replace the billing relationship between you and Google Play.
12. Where Google Play billing rules or mandatory consumer laws provide rights that differ from these Terms, those rules apply to the purchase or billing issue.

Data rules connected to the Service

The Privacy Policy explains what information the Application and its providers access, collect, use, store, share, retain, and delete. It covers Firebase Authentication and Firestore, Firebase App Check and Hosting, downloaded courses, local Pair Unlocks, AdMob and UMP consent, RevenueCat, Google Play services, local notifications, speech features, local diagnostics, Cloud Sync, and account deletion.

If you use Cloud Sync, Learning Data and User Content may be stored in Firebase so progress can be backed up and restored. Live Cloud Sync and new backup uploads may be limited to Premium users. After Premium ends, a signed-in user can still check for and restore the latest existing backup for the selected target language without re-enabling live synchronization, when such a backup exists.

Account deletion is available inside the Application for signed-in users and through the public Account Deletion page. Provider records such as purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, ad, or platform logs may be retained by third-party providers according to their own policies and legal obligations.

Educational use and no guaranteed result

1. URflashcards is an educational practice tool. It is not a school, exam authority, translator, legal adviser, medical adviser, immigration adviser, or professional certification service.
2. Flashcards, predefined categories, translations, grammar notes, pronunciation hints, examples, text-to-speech output, speech-recognition results, SRS/FSRS scheduling, scores, streaks, and review estimates may contain errors, may be incomplete, or may not match a particular dialect, curriculum, test, teacher, country, or personal learning goal.
3. The Android Application may check Firebase Hosting for an approved Course Pair update and download only JSON learning data for selected or installed pairs. It validates the course before replacing its last-known-good local base and activates an accepted update at a safe learning boundary.
4. The Service may help you practice, but we do not guarantee fluency, exam results, grades, employment results, immigration results, certifications, or any specific learning outcome.
5. You should independently verify important translations, study material, exam requirements, or professional decisions before relying on them.

Microphone, speech recognition, and playback

Choosing speech recognition can use the Android speech-service provider configured on the device. That provider may process microphone input off the device and return recognition results to the Application. URflashcards does not store or upload raw microphone audio to its own servers. Text-to-speech can also use the device’s configured voice service.

You can choose not to use speech features, and you can revoke microphone permission in your Android device settings. Speech tools may be unavailable, inaccurate, delayed, or different across devices and languages.

Rules for using the Service

1. Use the Service only for lawful, personal learning, backup, restore, and related study purposes.
2. Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, overload, attack, interfere with, or attempt to discover source code or bypass protections in the Application, cloud services, ads, purchases, entitlement systems, storage, or sync.
3. Do not fake purchases, tamper with local Premium, Pair Unlock, or ad-reward state, abuse Cloud Sync, misuse account deletion, create excessive accounts, or interfere with another user or provider.
4. Do not use the Service to host public content, distribute spam, distribute harmful content, infringe rights, violate privacy, or conduct unlawful activity.

App materials and permitted use

The app design, interface, text, graphics, icons, images, animations, software code, generated content files, names, branding, and other materials in the Service are owned by us or used with permission from their owners.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for personal learning. You may not copy, sell, publish, redistribute, or use app content or exported learning data for commercial or public resources unless we expressly allow it in writing or applicable law gives you that right.

Providers outside our control

Depending on the features a user chooses, the Service may depend on third-party services including Firebase, Google Play services, Google Sign-In, AdMob, RevenueCat, Android operating-system speech services, device features, and email clients. These services are controlled by their own terms, privacy policies, availability, security, and technical behavior.

Third-party links, Google Play pages, provider policies, advertisements, billing decisions, outages, refunds, and service changes are not controlled by URflashcards. We are not responsible for third-party content, actions, omissions, or availability.

How the Service may change

1. The Service may be updated, corrected, redesigned, interrupted, limited, or discontinued in whole or in part.
2. Features may vary by Android device, operating-system version, language pair, account state, Premium state, network status, provider availability, and Google Play requirements.
3. We may provide support at support@urflashcards.com, but support response times and outcomes are not guaranteed.

Limits that apply where permitted by law

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or capable of producing any specific learning result.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, URflashcards is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for data loss, learning errors, device problems, provider outages, inaccurate content, ad content, Google Play decisions, subscription decisions, or third-party service behavior.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights.

Updates and continued use

We may update these Terms to reflect app changes, provider requirements, legal requirements, security needs, product improvements, or clearer wording. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new date.

A new acceptance step records the updated version only after the required affirmative action. Where renewed agreement or consent is required, the Application may keep the affected Account, Premium, or provider-backed feature unavailable until the required action is completed.

General legal provisions

1. For a user who can enter this agreement, or the parent or legal guardian where applicable law requires, these Terms form the agreement with URflashcards regarding use of the Service. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
2. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
3. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive that provision or any right.
4. Where mandatory local law or Google Play terms give you rights that cannot be waived, those rights remain unaffected.
